RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS submitted by our First Church Family!
Well, this is a well known 'act of kindness' but I enjoyed doing it just the same.
I paid $5.00 toward the car behind me in the drive thru at Tim Hortons.
I left my Random Acts of Kindness car for the woman at the window to give to the next driver.
(if they only wanted a coffee she would apply the rest of the money to the next card.)
I'm excited to see if the recipient of the card will email their story to our website.
Have fun being kind everyone!!

I went through the Tim Horton's drive thru this morning to get myself a tea.
I ended up buying the lady behind me in line her coffee and biscuit as well!

A mother of a child I provide child care for had surgery. I sent her a text saying all the best and I will be praying for her. I sent her another text a couple days after her surgery to see how she was doing and how the surgery went. She has been dealing with this injury complication for a long time. My family also sent her a get well message.

I made some Valentines Day cookies to share with my son and daughter's classes at school. I doubled the recipe just so I could have extras to be able share them with others.
Today I dropped off a plate of cookies to two different neighbours.
I also took a large amount of cookies to The Grace Cafe (which EVERYDAY provides a warm place and food for those less fortunate!)

Someone I know was giving away a free coupon for Toys R Us/Babies R Us...so I
went and picked it up today so I could mail it to my friend in Strathroy who's
having a baby next month. This will help her save money on some of her big
purchases she is going to make soon.

I gave the bird feeders we made in church school to our neighbours to hang in their trees. I also gave one of our neighbours a card as well as the bird feeder as a thank you for snow blowing a path on the sidewalk and to the street for my brother and I to get to the bus easy.

Last weekend I was happy to snow blow a neighbour's driveway for them - the snow
had piled up, as they had been away for a few days.

My neighbour's front door has been frozen shut several times this week and they,
being senior citizens, did not have the strength to break the seal to open the
door. I discovered the threshold is a piece of hard wood which has had its
varnish, protecting it from moisture, worn off. I suggested that they put a
coating of vegetable oil on the wood to seal it from the condensation. They have
reported that they now can access the door since the oil is preventing it from
freezing. Thank you Lord for assisting me to be able to help someone else.

While grocery shopping today I noticed the person behind me in the check out
line had something in his cart that was on sale at another store for a much
cheaper price. I asked him if he knew about the sale and he said no, so I asked
him if he wanted me to show the cashier the flyer so he could price match it and
save money. He was very happy and asked me all about saving money and what app
on my phone I used to do price matching so easily. (I forgot to give him a RAOK
card, but hopefully he can teach someone else about saving money!) :-)

When a fellow musician couldn't make a committment to play for the Bereaved
Families Of Ontario, South West Region, annnual healing service, he asked if I
might consider it. All I can tell you is that I felt extremely 'called' to use
my music in this way. It was just as important for me as it was for them...and I
will never forget it.

I was taking one of the kids to the hairdressers tonight and knowing that there
were '$3 off a hair cut' coupons online that you can print, we printed one for
ourselves but then printed a few extra coupons and handed them out to others
getting their hair cut so they could also save $3.

I was at a "muffler shop" paying our bill. A gentlemen came in quite upset about the fact he did not have the funds to pay for the work performed on his car. To support I paid for his invoice and asked the owner to pass on the random act of kindness. It felt good to support a community member. We've all been there. :-)

A girl I recently met, who's son has epilepsy, needed to have something picked up in London. Her car was broken and needed it picked up right away so she could have it for him for Epilepsy Awareness Day on March 26th. I offered to drive to London and pick it up for her and deliver it to her house in St. Thomas. Epilepsy is something important to me as I have epilepsy as well, but I would have helped her anyway, even if I didn't have epilepsy.

A local mom, through facebook, asked if anyone had any diaper coupons as she has
2 boys in diapers and it's expensive and she needed to save money in order to
buy them. I decided to bring her a card and some money in order for her
to put towards the cost of a box of diapers. I also told her that I would
collect coupons for her in the future.
